Display at Burke Library Marks Constitution Week

In observance of Constitution Week, Sept. 17 to 23, Anna Maria Fitzhugh Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), has created a display at Kings Park Library, 9000 Burke Lake Rd, Burke. In 1955, NSDAR petitioned Congress with a resolution to make this a week of observance for the foundation of the American form of government. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed it into law on Aug. 2, 1956. George W. Bush officially declared the inception of Constitution Week in 2002. The commitment of the NSDAR is to encourage the study of the Constitution and provide information to public. The Constitution was adopted by the American Congress of the Confederation on Sept. 17, 1787.
